This would be a pretty awesome horse to have!

So I had a whole post all written out about all the different horses I am looking at, but then when I went back to this boys ad I had to stop and reconsider.

Lets look at this objectivly, I want to do endurance now, but I also want to do the conditioning on the horse myself. So where is the compromise?

If I truely wanted to do really well in this sport, THIS is the gelding to buy. Yes he is old, but he still has plenty of years of competing left in him. And who knows where I might be in 10 years anyway!

I still have moments of not knowing if I even want to continue my endurance horse search, and rather just work with Lucy with eventing again. But on the other hand I would LOVE if I could do both, or at least dabble in eventing with Lucy.

So enough talk! Who is this amazing horse you ask? Just take a look!

I talked with this woman briefly a couple weeks ago but she wasn’t interested in a least to own or payments. So I didn’t talk with her again until I saw his ad again today, so I e-mailed her again. Awaiting responce.

Sorry for the real post and not just pictures! I will post my pictures tomorrow!

Thanks!

“Monday Monday!”

Monday Monday, so good to me,
Monday Monday, it was all I hoped it would be
Oh Monday morning, Monday morning couldn't guarantee
That Monday evening you would still be here with me.
Monday Monday, can't trust that day,
Monday Monday, sometimes it just turns out that way
Oh Monday morning, you gave me no warning of what was to be
Oh Monday Monday, how yould cou leave and not take me.
Every other day, every other day,
Every other day of the week is fine, yeah
But whenever Monday comes, but whenever Monday comes
You can find me cryin' all of the time
Monday Monday, so good to me,
Monday Monday, it was all I hoped it would be
Oh Monday morning, Monday morning couldn't guarantee
That Monday evening you would still be here with me.
Every other day, every other day,
Every other day of the week is fine, yeah
But whenever Monday comes, but whenever Monday comes
You can find me cryin' all of the time
Monday Monday, ...

Oddly enough Monday didn’t find me crying, for once. But I was distracted beyond all belief! Very annoying, I got hardly any work done at all. I hope I bounce back fairly quick after I put Kezi down. But enough talk, pictures!!!! I took all of these about 5 minutes ago! haha!

Picture Perfect Day

Well, maybe not! I kinda forgot for most of the day, I woke up and remembered so took some pictures, then forgot until the end of the day.

So here is what I came up with, I spent the night and whole day at my fathers property in town (we live about 10 miles outside of town):

First pictures of the morning, view out our barn where we spent the night:

Then this afternoon the outside of our barn:

The neighbors, willow tree (the gave it a brutal haircut not too long ago, it was horrible!):

This is more or less where I work! The little tower attached to the house is my office (the upstairs part anyway) and the big tower with the deck around it is our vacation rental. Pictures are best taken from on that deck but we had guests in today:

My sisters pig Mortimer, I gave him to her for christmas, which was funny because he was born on christmas (we got him in February, long story):

Her other pig Ivy (she is sitting for food!):

The beautiful hills of Pescadero (I’ll get better ones in the following days):

My sisters dog Riley, he is the funnest dog! You will see more pictures of him in the days to come!:

AND, although this is a super wonderful picture, this is really what my boyfriend and I did most of the day (play wow and in this picture watch evolution! Oh and yes I am on HGS):

Thats all folks!

Confusication

Sooooo, I haven’t posted on here for a while. Seeing as my mind changes everyday as to what I am going to do, I would be posting a lot to keep up with everything!

So, first off I made the decition to put Kezi down. She wasn’t getting any better, only worse. So I decided rather then making her suffer through winter I would put her down before the rains.

So then I turned her out with the other horses to have some fun, secretly I was hoping she wouldn’t do well indicating that getting to move around wouldn’t help, even though that was what it seemed like to me. Within a day or two she was much better then she had been in her paddock, although she was on anti-inflamitories the whole time it seems like she was moving better in the pasture.

So I took her off the anti-inflamitories since I started questioning my decition. Then the rain hit and she went lame again. Now I feel bad for doing that since I only did it because I knew I wouldn’t be able to put a sound horse down.

So I was on the brink of calling my vet yesterday when I had a talk with my dad. He felt that I should try talking to some of the rescues about finding  her a home as a companion horse. I said I would try that but personally I don’t think its the best option. I would just be putting all of Kezi’s problems onto someone else. Plus Kezi’s winning personallity doesn’t help her at all. I am willing to let my horses have to deal with her being the super bitch, but other people might not.

So now I am right back where I started. Loren isn’t very happy about and keeps reminding me of all the reasons I chose to put her down. It would be a lot easier if I could look at her and feel like she really is in pain.

And of course she is effecting the rest of my life. Kezi makes me worry, which makes me not ride Lu, which makes me unhappy, which makes me stress out, which makes me overwhelmed which means I don’t get much work down, stress out even more and be upset about what I should or should not do.

Loren and I had a mini vacation at the beach house (its not that far away from where we live, in fact its near when Loren works which is why we were there) this last weekend. It was nice to hang around the house while Loren was at work and just read and play wow. But then I cried both going to sleep and when I woke up on Monday because I didn’t want to go back to all my problems.

As much as I really like that gelding I was going to go look at, I am just not settled enough to do so.

I wish I didn’t have horses right now

I have had the most horrificly horrible day ( I have started crying for no apperant reason several times and can’t sit down and concentrate on anything) which is coming off a horrible weekend (not entirely, I did have a lot of fun with my sister and her best friend Ashley when we went roller blading, but that was short lived) which was the ending to a horribly horrible week.

Why?

I have been trying to make the decision about Kezi’s fate. Should I put her down since I know she  is pain, or give her to a retirement faculity assuming she isn’t ready to go yet.

The decision has been rough , but after many long talks with Loren, and lots of advice on Bayequest and the horse forums, and also with the help of an animal communicator (who I am not entirely sure I believe in) I made my decision.

Since I know winter will be very difficult for her, but she just doesn’t look ready to go yet, I am going to wait until the rains come so she has a little bit more time, but she won’t have to go through the pain of another winter.

At some point I will show all the whys of how I came to this decision but right now I just don’t feel like it.

I am still coming to terms with this decision, which Loren thinks would be easier if I did it sooner rather then later since this solution puts it off. But it also gives me more time to accept that that is what I am doing. I made the decision last week and haven’t changed my mind yet.

Now the biggest thing weighing on my mind, is if I am ready to get another horse. I really, really want an endurance horse. Lucy has made it very clear that she will never be my endurance horse. I am not happy just trail riding any more. I want to go faster and do more and have a point to my riding. But I feel guilty looking at getting a new horse while I still have Kezi.

I think the idea of getting another horse will make me happier, but I still would have to contend with putting Kez down.

I don’t think my happiness should rest on weather or not I have a new endurance horse, and yet that is part of what is making me so down.

Hopefully I will have another blog that will be a bit more cheerful soon, although I don’t really feel like riding much right now.
